Having 5+ years of Experience as a DBA for PostgreSQL and / or Oracle.
We are looking for a customer-facing person who can work on site and remotely with customers to deliver technical services. This includes understanding their business, developing recommendations, coding, and delivering training where appropriate.
What Will I Be Doing as the Database Administrator?
- Experience in managing SQL Server 2008, 2012, 2014 and 2016 as well as sun setting older databases/versions.
- Experience in troubleshooting and resolving database integrity issues, performance issues, blocking and deadlocking issues, replication issues, log shipping issues, connectivity issues, security issues etc.
- Experience in Performance Tuning, Query Optimization, using SQL Server monitoring utilities such as Spotlight (preferred), Redgate, or Idera.
- Ability to detect/ troubleshoot SQL Server related CPU, memory, I/O, disk space and other resource contention.
- Good Experience in backups, restores, recovery models, database shrink operations, DBCC commands.
- Experience with Always On design , Availability groups, replication, log shipping, mirroring and storage replication technologies.
- Experience in indexes, index management, integrity checks, configuration, patching.
- Knowledge of SQL Server tools ( Profiler, DTA, SSMS, SAC, SSCM, PerfMon, DMVs, system procs)
- Solid acquaintance with windows server, security delegation, SPNs, storage components.
- Ability to work independently as well as with a team of onshore and offshore resources.
- Experience with designing DR plans while satisfying SLA requirements and conducting Disaster recovery tests.
- Designing/Recommending database alerts for monitoring database availability and performance.
- Ability to work with internal and external auditors on PCI compliance audits.
- Highly self-motivated and excellent time management skills. Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent degree/experience and relevant working experience.
- Minimum 5 years of experience as MS SQL database administrator.
- Hands-on experience with MS SQL Server 2008 R2, 2012, 2014, and 2016 required.
- Knowledge in Linux and Hadoop environments will be a plus.
